ERPNext Support and Hosting Questions
What does ERPNext support include?
User tickets, fixes, small changes, refresher training, backup checks, monitoring and minor updates within your version, all under an annual maintenance contract (AMC) that lists what is included. Major version upgrades and larger new features are scoped separately, so neither side is surprised.
Can you support an ERPNext site another company implemented?
Yes, and most of our support work starts that way. We begin with a health check of the version, customizations, error logs, backups and server access, and give you a written report before any contract. If the previous vendor still holds passwords or code, the report lists what to ask them for.
How do you upgrade ERPNext without breaking our customizations?
On a copy of the live site first. Custom apps are updated and tested against the new version, and any edits made to the core code are moved into a custom app before the upgrade, because otherwise it would erase them. Your key users test their daily screens on the copy, and only then does the live site move.
Should we host ERPNext on Frappe Cloud or our own AWS account?
Frappe Cloud suits plants that want the least to manage with a standard setup. Your own AWS account suits plants that want full control, other systems next to ERPNext, or data that stays in a known region. We support both, and an on-premise server where the plant's internet cannot be trusted.
Can our ERPNext data stay in India?
Yes. In your own AWS account we host it in the Mumbai region, so the database and backups stay in India. On Frappe Cloud the data lives in the region chosen when the site is created, so check the current region list. On-premise, it never leaves your building.
Do you provide ERPNext training for new staff?
Yes. When someone new joins stores, production, purchase or accounts, we run a short session on the screens they will use, with your own data. Refresher sessions also follow any change to a process or a workflow.
How much does an ERPNext AMC cost?
It depends on the state of the site, the number of users and modules, and how many changes you expect each year. We quote the AMC after the health check, because a clean site on a current version needs much less time than a fragile one. Our ERPNext pricing guide lists published market rates for support.
Can you finish a half-finished ERPNext implementation?
Yes. The health check shows what was finished properly and what was not. You then get a written plan to finish, with the modules in order, the data that needs cleaning and the sign-offs needed on your side. Once live, the site moves onto the same AMC as any other.
